Merton Council made an application on February 26, 2024, to install designated parking places for electric vehicles on Robinson Road in Wandsworth.
It made the Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The general effect of the Electric Vehicle Charging Points Order will be to designate parking places for electric vehicle charging on Robinson Road, provide that the parking places will operate at all times, unless otherwise stated; and specify that the parking places in controlled parking zones referred.
This notice is for cars that are fully electric or plug-in hybrid electric only. You can park here for up to 12 hours, but only if you’ve paid for a parking permit for this area and your electric car is plugged into a special lamp post that’s set up for charging.
Electric vehicles having left a parking place for electric vehicle charging will be able to return after four hours have elapsed.
Electric charging points will be installed at:
1. Outside Nos. 21-23 Robinson Road
2. Outside No. 24 Robinson Road
3. Outside the common boundary of Nos. 83 and 85 Robinson Road
4. Outside the common boundary of Nos. 103 and 105 Robinson Road
5. Outside No. 121 Robinson Road
6. Outside No. 92 Robinson Road
7. Outside the common boundary of Nos. 116 and 118 Robinson Road
8. Outside the common boundary of Nos. 134 and 136 Robinson Road
The Parking Places Amendment Orders will result in the removal of some parking spaces on certain roads listed in the Schedule. This is being done to make space for new parking areas specifically for electric vehicle charging.
A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into force on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Other documents providing more detailed information, including plans showing the roads affected by the Orders, can be viewed during normal office hours (Mondays to Fridays) at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden. These documents will be available for inspection until six weeks after the Orders were made.
If anyone wishes to challenge the validity of the Orders or any provision within them, on the grounds that they exceed the powers granted by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that the requirements of the Act or related regulations have not been met, they must apply to the High Court within six weeks from the date the Orders were made.
