The Bill star looks unrecognisable as the actor is spotted having an alfresco drink in North London

A former The Bill actor looked unrecognisable as he was spotted out for an alfresco drink in North London on Wednesday.

Tony O’Callaghan, who played Sergeant Matt Boyden from 1991 to 2003, was seen out in a flat cap in Hamstead Heath.

The English actor, 67, looked markedly different from his days playing the police officer, as he sat for coffee in a leather jacket with fur collar.

Following his stint on the British police show, Tony went on to join the cast of EastEnders in 2013 as Ollie Walters.

His appearance comes after the cast of The Bill reunited at an event, 13 years after the police drama was axed from screens.

Leading the way were PC Tony Stamp star Graham Cole and Sgt Bob Cryer actor Eric Richard, who beamed for snaps as they attended The Bill Reunion 8 at London’s The Cinema Museum over the weekend.

The popular ITV police procedural television series aired from August 1983 to August 2010, racking up an astonishing 2,425 episodes.

The show followed the lives of the employees working at the fictional Sun Hill station in East London.

And years after the show ended, the show is still as popular as ever as some of the cast gathered for the sold-out event, including Kim Tiddy (PC Honey Harman), Andrea Mason (.P.C. Debbie Keane) and Carol Royle (Jennifer Salter).

‘SO we are going to do The Bill reunion 9 in late Autumn 2023 (date to be confirmed) and The Bill Reunion 10 on the 20th January 2024.’

And in September, another of Tony’s former cast mates was spotted looking different than many would remember.

Jeff Stewart, 67, starred as PC Reg Hollis on the hit ITV drama series The Bill from its inception 1980s right up until he left in 2008 but these days looks completely different.

In his TV heyday, the actor had a smart black hairdo and was clean shaven but 17 years after quitting the show – which was axed in 2010 – Jeff was seen sporting a bushy grey beard complete with a cloud of grey on top.

The Bill star Jeff Stewart looked unrecognisable years after finding fame on hit ITV drama as he sported a bushy grey beard while stepping out in London on Thursday

For his stroll through North London in September, the Scottish-born star kept cool in a pair of red shorts and wore a beige coat over a white shirt.

He finished off the look with a pair of white Adidas trainers and covered his blue eyes with a pair of dark glasses.

Before finding fame in the world of serial drama, Jeff had played small roles in other shows such as Doctor Who and coincidentally played a police officer on BBC comedy Hi-De-Hi just months before The Bill aired for the first time.

He starred alongside Graham Cole’s PC Tony Stamp and Mark Wingett’s character DC Jim Carver.

Though he didn’t appear in the pilot episode, he featured regularly from the first regular instalment onwards and appeared in a total of 872 episodes.

After almost 20 years on screen, the character was axed.
