Horror 24 hours in London with one dead after stabbings and shooting

The week beginning March 1 saw a string of attacks in Hounslow, Enfield, and Clapham.

Information about each incident is from the Metropolitan Police.

Three people taken to hospital after moped shooting in Clapham

Three people were taken to hospital after a shooting in Clapham.

Officers had been chasing a moped after it failed to stop in the Clapham area just before 5pm on March 1.

The force said that a firearm, believed to be a shotgun, was discharged by the rider near Clapham Common South Side.

Two people suffered shotgun pellet injuries, while a third was injured by the moped.

Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The suspects fled the scene and officers are now attempting to trace the moped.

Police said a firearm had also been recovered at the scene.

A crime scene was put in place and there have been no arrests.

Man taken to hospital with ‘serious’ hand injury after stabbing in Hounslow

A man in his 50s was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Hounslow.

The incident happened in Hounslow High Street just after 5.50pm on March 1.

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man with a serious hand injury.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

Man, 66, dies after being stabbed inside flat in Enfield

A 66-year-old man has died after being stabbed inside a flat in Enfield.

The incident happened in Lockhart Close just before 7.30pm on March 1.

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Police enquiries are underway to identify and inform his next of kin.

A formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

No arrests have been made.
