Fury as vile anti-semitic graffiti calling Jews ‘evil’ is sprayed over skate ramps at London park used by children – with Met Police facing calls to investigate

  • Hate language sprayed in Meanwhile Gardens in Notting Hill labelled ‘grotesque’

Vile anti-semitic graffiti calling Jews ‘evil’ was spotted spray-painted in a skating park in west London on Sunday.

Words reading ‘They’re evil. Jew ban due’, were seen sprayed on to ramps used by children at Meanwhile Gardens in Notting Hill.

Kensington and Chelsea council confirmed that it had wiped off the graffiti hours after it had been reported.

Police have been urged to investigate the incident which has been labelled ‘grotesque’ and ‘depressing’.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Campaign Against Anti-Semitism said: ‘Grotesque antisemitic graffiti spotted in Meanwhile Gardens Skatepark in Notting Hill.

‘Jewish residents in London should not have to be subjected to such sickening vandalism.

One local responded: ‘This skatepark is down the road from where I live.

‘Can’t tell you how depressing I find it to see people in my area resort to racism in their desire to stand up for Palestine.’

Another wrote: ‘Truly shocking, we’re nearly in 2024 and this is happening on our streets and around the Western world. What woodwork do these evil people crawl from? My heart goes out to the Jewish communities everywhere.’

‘@metpoliceuk anything? no? Maybe stopping those Anti-Israel riots, filled with genocidal slogans against the Jews, would have prevented groups of people thinking they can get away with this?’, another posted.

It comes amid a stark rise in anti-semitic hate crimes since the outbreak of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Since the October 7 terror attack by Hamas, there has been a 1350% increase in anti-semitic incidents, with the Community Security Trust (CST) recording at least 2,093 hate crimes across the UK over a 68-day period.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea said it looked into the incident urgently and had removed the offensive graffiti by Sunday evening.

MailOnline has contacted Metropolitan Police for comment.
