Neighbours have paid tribute to an ‘incredible’ mother of four after she was allegedly stabbed to death in a flat by her boyfriend.
Locals in Primrose Hill, west London, said Nicole Hurley, 37, was a ‘lovely lady’ and a fond member of the community.
They hailed her children as ‘bright, ambitious, curious and generous’ in emotive comments since Sunday’s tragedy.
Meanwhile her brother said his world had been ‘flipped upside down and changed forever’ following her death at around 1am Sunday.
Ms Hurley’s boyfriend Jason Bell, 40, was arrested later that day and was last night charged with her murder.
He was also charged with false imprisonment in relation to a third party, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance.
The killing marks the 14th woman to be slain in London since the landmark death of Sarah Everard in March.
It will pile yet more pressure on Met chief Cressida Dick and Mayor Sadiq Khan to tackle spiralling violence against women in the capital.
Cards, flowers and cuddly toys flooded the street where the attack took place, with one saying: ‘Rest in peace, going to miss you, love you always.’
Brigitte Clements, who set up a fundraiser for the victim’s family, said online: ‘These children have been the heart of our community.
‘They help carry groceries for you if they see you carrying bags. They offer to water your plants when you are away.
‘They come and offer to help to paint and repair whenever someone is busy tinkering. These children are not average.
‘These children are extraordinary, and this is a testament to their incredible mother. They are bright, ambitious, curious and generous.’
She added: ‘They are four individuals that give you hope in what the future generation will bring.’
Eleisha Prichard, 22, who lives with her aunt a few doors down said: ‘She was always really good with her kids, but had not been smiling recently.
‘The kids were nice and well-mannered. They were always out playing with in the court head with the other children.
‘You would never expect this to happen in this area. It’s quiet and there’s hardly any trouble. I thought it was a joke when my aunt told me what had happened.’
A neighbour who has lived on the Kingsland estate for eight months said: ‘She was a lovely lady with three girls and one boy – all school age.
‘They are really beautiful kids and used to play out in the playground with my daughter.’

Another said: ‘I just moved in a year ago and saw her walking around with her children. She would always stop and say hello, and always seemed very nice and polite.’
Meanwhile Ms Hurley’s brother Ryan said: ‘Our world was flipped upside down and changed forever, the impossible happened and we lost our beautiful sister to the hands of a monster.
‘We will pull together as a family as we always do and ensure that the four most amazing children have the best possible lives.’
Police were called to the flat on Broxwood Way in upmarket Primrose Hill in the early hours of Sunday.
They found Ms Hurley with multiple stab wounds and she died at the scene despite paramedics attending.
Police launched a manhunt and arrested Bell on Sunday evening, with him being charged with murder last night.
Ms Hurley marks the 14th women to be killed in the capital since Ms Everard, 33, snatched in Clapham and murdered.
Former Met Police officer Wayne Couzens was sentenced to life in prison for her kidnap, rape and murder at the end of last month.
The 14 women to be killed also includes Sabina Nessa, 28, who was found under leaves in a park in Kidbrooke, south east London, last month.

Plans for an 888 emergency phone number to protect lone women have been welcomed by Downing Street.
BT offered to develop a ‘walk me home’ service in the wake of the outrage at the murder of Ms Everard.
And in a major boost for the plans, the Prime Minister’s spokesman revealed Whitehall officials will consider the proposals ‘very carefully’.
BT, which has run the 999 service for 84 years, said the mobile phone app would allow the vulnerable to have their journeys tracked.
It would triggered an alert if they failed to reach home in time. They could also use it to summon police if they felt threatened.
Bell was remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today.
