Police are reported to have shot man and closed London Bridge after hearing gunshots on a bus.
The Met police have tweeted that they are in the early stages of dealing with an incident and will update the public shortly.
Witnesses had reported hearing several gunshots as ‘sirens wailed’.
Detectives have said they are in the early stages of dealing with an incident as scenes of panic fill the area.
One witness is reported to have said: “I’m about a 3/4 mile from London Bridge and could hear the gunshots – lots of them.
“Seem to have stopped. Sirens wailing now. Hope people are ok.”
The police have asked anyone near the scene to “please follow the directions of any officer on the ground.”
Videos and pictures posted to social media showed police cars at the bridge as the sound of sirens could be heard.
