Three suspects identified in summer 2022 west London shooting

More than a year and a half after a shooting that sent a London jewellery store owner to hospital, police have identified three suspects.

Police had been searching for those responsible since the owner of RK Forever Jewellery on Wonderland Road South at Teeple Terrace was ambushed by four men on the evening of July 27, 2022. The jeweller had just gotten into his vehicle when he was blocked in by another vehicle and approached by the masked men. During the altercation that ensued, the store owner was shot and the men took off in what was determined to be a blue Acura sedan.

The store owner was treated in hospital for the gunshot wound.

In the days that followed the shooting, police publicly released photos of the suspects and suspect vehicle. However no arrests were made until this week. Police announced on Tuesday, 23-year-old Travis Hinds of Saint-Sauveur, Quebec and 23-year-old Nickell Isaac of Toronto have been charged in the shooting. The pair are charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and occupying a vehicle with a firearm.

Hinds is additionally charged with discharging a firearm with intent to wound or endanger life and possession of a restricted firearm without a licence. Hinds was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Monday. Isaac, who remains in police custody on an unrelated matter, is scheduled to appear on February 27.

A third suspect was identified, but has died since the shooting took place. As such, police said they will not be releasing the person’s name.

“The identity of the deceased cannot be shared due to privacy legislation,” police said.

The search for the fourth suspect, who has yet to be identified, is continuing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
