London woman thanks ‘massive legend’ who shut his business to help her after car crashed into hers and sped away

A woman from London has thanked a local businessman for closing his business to help her after she was involved in a car crash in north-west London. She described him as a “wonderful man” who came to her aid after the other vehicle fled the scene.

Noa Hoffman tweeted about the incident to her 4,000 followers. She said: “I’ve just been in a car crash – thankfully I’m ok but wanted to highlight a lovely act of kindness during a scary incident. I was driving in NW Lnd when a car out of nowhere sped into my lane & crashed the front of my car before speeding off into the distance.”

She described the damage to her car, which was centred on the front-left of the vehicle, led to parts of the body work being torn off and puncturing her tyre. Noa said: “I was alone in the street with no clue what to do, completely shaken.”

The incident happened on the A504 yesterday morning. Local business owner Tony saw Noa and her vehicle on the street, and came out of his store to help her. Tony taped up the front of her car to avoid anything else falling off and drove it carefully back to her house, which was close by, despite the flat tire.

Noa said she was “having a meltdown in the passenger seat” but that Tony phoned her mum for her and explained Noa was ok.

She added: “All this time he shut his business to help a complete stranger in distress so I just want to say thank you and a big shout out to Tony who is a massive legend.” Tony owns his own barber shop, The Barber’s Chair in Finchley.

Tony’s Google reviews are glowing with positivity and have given him a five-star rating overall. One customer said: “Friendly experienced hairdresser! Looks after each customer individually – in styling, finishing etc. Very pleased!”

Another wrote: “Tony is a true gent” – a review which certainly stacks up to him helping Noa after the car crash.
