London’s cheapest street to buy a house has been revealed as Leyton in East London, with properties on one particular street selling for an average of just £114,883. Church Road in Leyton is the cheapest place in the city to buy a house, according to HM Land Registry data from the past five years.
The next cheapest streets were Sunny Bank in Beckenham, Bromley; Walker Close in Southgate, Enfield; and Brumwell Avenue in Woolwich, Greenwich.
The data has also revealed the most expensive streets to buy in London, the most lavish of which is Phillimore Gardens in Kensington. Three houses were sold in the area over the last five years, at an average price of £34,700,000.
Ruban Selvanayagam, co-founder of house-buying company Property Solvers, which compiled the data, said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.”

He added: “It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Avenue Road (NW8) sold for £38,500,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £82,500 and under on Throwley Close (SE2), Rosemont Road (W3) and Jeymer Avenue (NW2).”
