Southwark man among those charged with Wembley pitch invasion – South London News

One of the three alleged pitch invaders who stormed onto the Wembley Stadium turf moments into the start of Saturday night’s Champions League final, is from Southwark.

David Carneckij, 28, of Walworth Road, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 10, having been charged in connection with the incident.

Two others have also been charged. Yevhenii Lubnenko, 29, of no fixed abode will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court this week while a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Highbury Corner Youth Court on June 24.

All three have been charged with going onto the playing area at a football match contrary to Section 4 of the Football (Offences) Act 1991.

Enquiries continue into two other people arrested in connection with the same incident.

Various newspapers reported that a Russian vlogger called Mellstroy had offered a reward for anyone entering the field of play with a shirt bearing his name.

The clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund was watched by nearly 90,000 in the stadium and millions on TV.
