Teenager fights for life after double stabbing in North Finchley

A teenager is fighting for his life after he was knifed in north London with a suspect arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police were scrambled to High Road, North Finchley, where they found victims, aged 19 and 17, with stab wounds.

The older victim is in a critical condition in hospital while the other suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.

A man, 20, has been arrested in suspicion of attempted murder. Another, 22, was detained on suspicion of ABH.

The air ambulance was dispatched to the scene after the stabbing at just before 9.15pm on Wednesday.

The suspects are being questioned at a north London police station.

A Met statement said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 21:14hrs on Wednesday, 22 May to reports of a stabbing at High Road, N12.

“Officers, LAS and London’s Air Ambulance [HEMS] attended. At the scene a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were found with knife injuries.

“They were taken to hospital where the 19-year-old remains in a critical condition.

“The 17-year-old victim’s injuries, although serious, are not life threatening.”

A crime scene remains is in place as detectives and forensics officers scour the scene for evidence. Meanwhile officers are trawling through CCTV footage from around the area.

In another incident officers were alerted to reports of a man stabbed in south-east London.

They found a victim, 60, with a knife wound in Flintmill Crescent, Kidbrooke at 2.12am on Wednesday.

His condition is yet to be confirmed by police who have launched an investigation. No arrests have been made.
