Black Eats Festival moves south of the river – South London News

Woolwich Works is celebrating summer early this April as the vibrant Black Eats Festival is making a huge return.

After three years in Hackney, entertaining 250,000 visitors, Black Eats are moving south of the river with an added festival atmosphere at Woolwich Works in Royal Arsenal, on April 27 and 28.

The UK’s first and only Black-owned restaurant directory, Black Eats LDN, are raising the bar this year with their new riverside site.

Visitors can expect a courtyard filled with creative and traditional culinary delights from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond, including The Suya Pit, Rack City Ribs, Sweet Dee’s Jerk and many more, alongside a Havana Club cocktail bar with a rotating guest menu curated for each session.

There will be a range of drinks designed to complement the exciting flavours on offer.

In the indoor space, guests will find an art gallery curated by Black Curational and a retail marketplace with independent traders such as Pure Cane, This is Book Love and Bruler Candles for unique finds, alongside a beauty area and bookshop.

Face Painting workshops, activities, and a line-up of live DJs, are all booked and ready to go for this family food festival.

Tickets start from £8 per person for the daytime session which runs from 12pm until 4pm for all ages. Over 18s can also attend an evening session from 5pm until 9pm, where tickets start from £12 per person.
