Rio Ferdinand makes a North London Derby prediction Tottenham fans will love – The Spurs Web

Looking ahead to the remaining fixtures in the Premier League title race, Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Arsenal could find a potential ‘banana skin’ when they face Tottenham Hotspur at the end of this month.

Tottenham will need to bounce back after falling to a catastrophic 4-0 defeat against Newcastle this weekend. The Lilywhites lost ground in the battle for the top four due to the result, with Aston Villa leapfrogging them in the Premier League table.

Aston Villa beat Arsenal thanks to two late goals at the Emirates, putting a huge dent in the Gunners’ title race hopes this weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s side now have a crucial second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich to contend with, before visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 28th. Spurs, meanwhile, will have a two-week break to assess the damage and come up with an action plan.

Can Spurs beat Arsenal in the NLD?

Examining that all-important upcoming North London derby, Rio Ferdinand told TNT Sports that this could be the game that really sees the wheels fall off for Arsenal, and predicted a Spurs win.

Looking at Arsenal’s fixtures, Ferdinand was asked, “What about the North London derby, away?” The pundit replied: “That’s the banana skin for me, so I’m going to go for a 2-1 Tottenham win.”

The incentive for Spurs there will be three-fold, with the Lilywhites looking to not only enhance their own position in the league and get one over their rivals, but also hoping to derail Arsenal’s title hopes entirely.

Spurs Web Opinion

At our place, and with so much to play for, we definitely have what it takes to beat Arsenal this time around. We cannot let them come away from that game with anything, but the players will have to be at their very best and really want it.
