‘End-to-end’ – Paul Merson makes prediction for Tottenham vs Arsenal North London Derby – The Spurs Web

Next up for Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal is a massive North London derby at the end of this month, with a lot riding on the result. Former Gunners star, Paul Merson, predicts we will see a very entertaining game, but thinks Arsenal will have enough to get the win.

Both teams tasted defeat last time out in the Premier League, with Tottenham falling to a dismal 4-0 loss away at Newcastle United. The result saw the Lilywhites lose ground on Aston Villa in the race for fourth place and Champions League football.

That’s because Villa put Arsenal to the sword with two late goals at the Emirates on Sunday to register an important 2-0 win over the Gunners. That defeat left Arsenal two points adrift of Manchester City in the title race with six games to go.

Ange Postecoglou‘s men now have a two-week wait for their next fixture, while Arsenal have a crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg tie against Bayern Munich this week.

Arsenal to come out on top against Tottenham

Speaking to Sky Sports about the upcoming game and Arsenal’s title chances, Merson has the North London derby pegged as one that can bring three points for his former team.

He said: “I’m quite confident for Arsenal against Tottenham. It will be an end-to-end football match, I just think Arsenal are stronger in midfield and I think they win that game.

“I expect them to beat West Ham, I expect them to beat Tottenham.”

Spurs Web Opinion

We simply have to beat Arsenal at the end of the month. Not only is it a huge game for our hopes of a top-four finish, but more importantly, we cannot let them win the title. If we can beat them, it will be so satisfying to know that we have put a huge dent in their title hopes.
