Businesses get together for breakfast networking at Ealing Green College – EALING.NEWS – The Voice of Ealing 7 towns

West London College has held its third business breakfast networking event of the academic year at its Ealing Green College campus.

Guest speakers, David Woods from the British Business Bank and Deryck Sealy from the London Business Partnership provided insights into opportunities for business owners to get help from covering finance through to developing a digital business strategy.

Mr Woods explained how his Government-owned organisation can help provide loans to directors to enable small firms to grow. He said: “We provide loans of £500 to £25,000 per director, and up to four directors maximum, in a start up SME.”

Mr Sealy, explained how his company helps small businesses. He said: “The London Business Partnership is a social enterprise to support people who want to start, sustain and grow their businesses.”

At Ealing Green College, WLC says it is is developing a creative and cultural design lab while in nearby Hammersmith, it is also setting up a health and life science lab. Both facilities will support T-Level provision in digital and health.

Assistant Principal, Sajada Sajid said: “Each T-Level student needs to complete 45 days of work experience. As a vocational college, we welcome the opportunity to design the curriculum with employers to meet the needs of local businesses.”

Matt Fawcett, deputy principal, planning, partnerships and projects also provided an insight into new work WLC is involved in including the West London Retail Hub which is to offer training courses from selling products on the shop floor, to buying, merchandising and designing retail space. The Retail Hub will be based at West London shopping centre.
