Cara Delevingne Appears in Stella McCartney’s Summer 2024 Campaign

LONDON — RuPaul may have sung, “We’re all born naked and the rest is drag,” but for Cara Delevingne, she was born naked and the rest is Stella McCartney’s Falabella bags.

The British model and actor features in the designer’s summer 2024 campaign shot in South London at the Veolia recycling plant, a company that deals in water management, waste management and energy services with the aim of collecting waste to depollute, decarbonize and regenerate it back.

The brand said it’s their most conscious collection to date with 95 percent of the materials being sustainable.

McCartney chose Delevingne for the campaign for her green credentials. The model is a trustee of EcoResolution and founder of a charity that helps communities “restore nature and grow food,” according to its website.

The designer has been experimenting with new ways to work with new materials, such as using recycled cashmere in her collections since 2016, Econyl fiber and recyclable nylon since 2017 and the byproduct of apple and grape waste from Veuve Clicquot’s harvest for an alternative to leather.

The campaign that the collection is based on was presented during Paris Fashion Week in October last year, where McCartney took over the Marché Saxe-Breteuil, not far from the Eiffel Tower, and transformed it into Stella’s Sustainable Market for the day.

At her last show in Paris, the designer continued her messaging of saving the planet.

“We’re conscious and connected, and it’s a solution-driven brand. I want to have a feeling of positivity.…Using fashion to lift people up,” she said backstage.
