Third suspect in west London apartment robbery identified

The last of three suspects in an armed robbery and assault at the same west London apartment, weeks apart, has been identified.

London police had released surveillance images earlier this week of men seen breaking into an apartment on Wonderland Road South, near Commissioners Road on February 16 and March 3.

In the first incident two men broke into an apartment on Wonderland Road South, near Commissioners Road and demanded money from a man inside. The resident was assaulted before the men left, police said. That individual suffered minor injuries.

Then around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, two men went to the same apartment on Wonderland and broke in. This time one of the men pointed a sawed-off shotgun at the resident and demanded money.

No one was hurt and the home invaders left empty handed, police said.

Both incidents were reported to police on Sunday.

Investigators used video surveillance to determine one of the men was involved in both incidents. An arrest warrant was issued for 48-year-old Joseph David Marghella of London on charges including armed robbery, robbery with violence or threats, using a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence, pointing a firearm, break and enter and theft and disguise with intent.

Marghella has yet to be taken into custody.

A second suspect was identified hours after police released surveillance images on Wednesday. The third suspect, a man wearing a black hooded jacket, has also now been named, police said on Friday.
