Carroll transfers to North London Shamrocks

Gaoth Dobhair have been dealt a blow ahead of the new club season as Michael Carroll has transferred to North London Shamrocks.

Carroll is a former Donegal senior, under 21 and minor player and he was an important figure with Gaoth Dobhair when they won the Ulster Championship title in 2018.

He hasn’t played overly regularly with the Magheragallon side over the last two years but he did make a good impression in the County Final last season and was one of his side’s best performers in the defeat against Naomh Conaill.

There is a growing Donegal connection playing ball with North London Shamrocks including Paddy Dolan, Nathan McElwaine, Michael Lynch, Sean McMonagle, Michael Miller, Ciaran Diver, and Daniel Clarke.

Peter Witherow from St Michael’s will manage the Shamrocks this season.

Meanwhile, Shane Boyle from the Naomh Muire club has also moved to the English capital and will play with Parnells in 2024.

Former Donegal senior player Tony McClenaghan has transferred from Moville to Greenwood in Australia.
