Plan in for North London 620-bed student scheme

The project on the site of a former Mecca Bingo building in Wood Green will provide 623 student bedrooms and 77 affordable homes over four buildings rising to nine storeys.

Associated amenity spaces, at the Lordship Lane project will include private and social study areas, an on-site library and gym, as well as a podcast and recording studio.

The development will also provide 77 affordable homes, which includes 25 shared ownership apartments, 45 social rent apartments and 7 social rent 5-bed townhouses.

Designed by architect Costorphine & Wright, Tri7 and Fusion Group will target a BREEAM Outstanding and the PBSA building aims to achieve a 41% betterment over Building Regulations Part L.

All buildings will employ sustainable technologies and passive measures including biodiverse green roofs, air source heat pumps, PVs to all roofs and natural ventilation.
