10 Valentine’s Day meals in south east London for under £50 a person

With Valentine’s Day coming up there will be many people looking to have a romantic meal or even a meal with friends.

We’ve rounded up the restaurants in and around south east London offering Valentine’s Day menus for under £50 a person and everything you need to know.

Babur, Forest Hill

How much? £49.95 per person (for bookings after 9pm)

If gourmet Indian food is your thing, Babur are offering a three-course Valentine’s Day set menu with a welcome drink.

The menu is priced at £59.95 per person if you book after 5:30pm, but if you fancy visiting after 9pm you can eat for cheaper at £49.95 per person.

The evening will begin with one of Babur’s signature cocktails, with a choice between a Strawberry Sparkler, a Pink Fizz, or a Saffron Bubbles. 

Guests will then be able to have a choice between two starters, four mains and two desserts, with options like the Tandoori Chilli Garlic Prawns for starters, Kashmiri Gucchi Kofta for mains and Dark Chocolate and Strawberry Torte for dessert.

Bill’s, Greenwich

Where? Bill’s Greenwich, 13 Nelson Road, London, SE10 9JB

When? Friday, February 9 to Saturday, February 17

How much? £29.95 per person, with £5 extra for dessert

If you’re looking for an affordable Valentine’s or Galantine’s menu, Bill’s in Greenwich are offering a set menu for £29.95 per person, in collaboration with Passoã.

The menu, available from Friday, February 9 until Saturday, February 17, features a starter, main and Passoã cocktail, with options like the Spiced Aubergine Fritter Peppercorn Steak Frites, Pan Fried Salmon & Saffron with lemon cream sauce, roasted chestnut and butternut bake, or Truffle & Parmesan Mac & Cheese.

For an extra £5, diners can add on a dessert like the Banoffee Pie Sundae, the Valentine’s Brownie for One, or the Valentine’s Sharing Dessert with white chocolate and passion fruit mousse, triple chocolate brownie truffles, cinnamon doughnuts, strawberries, and topped with chocolate sauce.

Dorothy and Marshall, Bromley

How much? Two courses for £34.60 or three courses for £39.60 per person

If you’re looking for traditional British cuisine, Dorothy and Marshall’s in Bromley are offering a two or three course Valentine’s Day meal for under £40 per person.

Located in the former court room of Bromley’s refurbished Old Town Hall, Dorothy and Marshall offers quality British cuisine with a bar serving a selection of wines and cocktails.

Their set Valentine’s Day menu features four starters to choose from including the Treacle Cured Salmon, Slow Cooked Cull Yaw Scrumpet, Ormskirk Mushroom Parfait or a Melting Cheese Rarebit Pot to share.

For mains, diners can choose between options like the Corn-fed Chicken ‘Kyiv’ with crispy potato and roasted garlic, or the Roast Heritage Squash with cauliflower, kale and capers.

If you have a sweet tooth you can choose between four desserts including a Chocolate and Orange Brownie, Knickerbocker Glory, Yorkshire Rhubarb and Bramley Apple Crumble, or a Baked Alaska to share.

The price also includes a complimentary glass of fizz or a soft drink to toast with.

The Tudor Barn, Eltham

How much? £30 for two courses or £35 for three courses per person with £10 per person booking fee

Set in the charming location of a 16th century Tudor Barn in Well Hall Pleasaunce, this is a perfect romantic setting for a Valentine’s date.

For £35 per person you can enjoy a three-course meal with options like Cherry Tomato Tarte Tatin for starters, Crispy Pork Belly for mains and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries for dessert.

iNaga, West Wickham

When? Wednesday, February 14

How much? £24.95 per person

If you’re looking for a bargain, iNaga in West Wickham are offering a five-course meal for the price of £24.95 per person.

The food is prepared by award-winning chef Nanu Miah, who was named winner of the Best Chef award at the Asian Curry Awards in 2023 and in prior years.

The business has also won a number of annual awards since 2014.

Guests will be able to enjoy five courses including a popadom, starter, main, side and rice or naan for £24.95 per person, with lamb chops or seafood being an additional £4 charge.
