Get involved in Heart of West London

Brentford’s Premier League fixture against Manchester City at Gtech Community Stadium on Monday 5 February is the club’s designated Heart of West London fixture.

Since 2022, the Heart of West London partnership has been using the power of sport to raise awareness of cardiac health.

The collective work of the club, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and our charity partners has raised thousands of pounds to fund ground-breaking research into cardiac health at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity.

It also has organised life-saving heart screenings and CPR education in the community.

This Monday, we’ll be marking the success of the partnership so far and highlighting how we can work together to change the game for heart health. Here’s how you can get involved in our matchday activity.

Learn CPR and matchday giveaways at the Fan Hive

Head down to the Fan Hive from 6pm to meet representatives from our charity partners and find out about the difference the partnership is making in west London.

At the Fan Hive, we’ll be showing a two-minute video tutorial on how to give life-saving CPR in an emergency. Learning CPR is a vital skill and when performed it can increase the likelihood of someone surviving a cardiac arrest. The more people that know how to administer it, and are willing to teach others, the greater security we can provide our community from fatalities due to cardiac health.

We’ll also be giving away a limited number of exclusive Heart of West London tote bags and pin badges. While you’re there, sign up to find out more about Heart of West London’s initiatives, fundraising opportunities and how you can support the partnership.

Buy a t-shirt or matchday programme to make a donation

With every purchase of a Heart of West London t-shirt or Heart of West London themed matchday programme, a portion of the profits from the sale will be donated to help fund ground-breaking cardiac research.

Both include a scannable CPQR code, which will take you to a short, step-by-step CPR tutorial video by Resuscitation Council UK. Take two minutes to scan it and learn life-saving CPR.

Heart of West London t-shirts are available to purchase in the Bees Superstore, at the Fan Hive and at kiosks around the ground. Matchday programmes are available at kiosks on the way to and inside the ground.

At the match

Take your seat at the Gtech early to hear from ex-player Fraser Franks and Suzanne Rowan, partner of our late technical director Rob Rowan. They’ll be explain more about the initiative and why this is a cause close to their hearts.

We are joined by Bromleians United U12s team who will be our flag wavers for the game. The team are one of seven grassroots sides that have added the CPQR code to their kits for the season to help spread the message about cardiac health.

During the match, our players will be wearing special shirts with the Resuscitation Council’s CPQR code on the front to encourage thousands watching to scan it and learn CPR.

Many thanks to all the Heart of West London partners for all their work so far: Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Resuscitation Council UK, and A-K-A Day.
