Nine injured after ‘corrosive substance’ thrown in Clapham, south London | UK News

Nine people, including children, have been hurt after a “corrosive substance” was thrown in Clapham, south London.

London Fire Brigade said they were “called to a chemical incident on Lessar Avenue” on Wednesday evening.

It said crews “provided immediate emergency care to a woman and two children”.

“Five further people were also treated at the scene,” it added. “They were all taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Police said three officers who responded were among those taken to hospital and they were trying to catch a man who fled the scene.

London Assembly member Marina Ahmad said a man had thrown acid at people in a car following a crash.
