Ipswich Town bid for AFC Wimbledon striker – South London News

Ipswich Town have submitted a bid just north of £1million for AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi, the South London Press understands.

The Dons want to hold on to Al-Hamadi this January and have slapped a valuation expected to be over £2million for the 21-year-old.

Ex-Tranmere and Swansea youngster Al-Hamadi – who is currently away on international duty with Iraq at the Asia Cup – has 16 goals and seven assists in all competitions to his name for Johnnie Jackson’s side this season.

Wycombe have a sizeable sell-on clause included in any deal should the Dons agree a fee for Al-Hamadi, after he joined on a free transfer last January.

Leeds, Stoke and Hull have all sent scouts to watch Al-Hamadi this season.

Barnsley and Peterborough both had bids knocked back for the striker in the summer window.

Kieran McKenna’s side are second in the Championship table and seven points behind league leaders Leicester City.
