Crystal Palace bid for Blackburn midfielder – South London News

Crystal Palace have bid for Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton.

The South London Press understands the Eagles have submitted a £15million permanent offer for the 19-year-old.

Wharton has made 26 appearances in the Championship this season, scoring two twice and recording three assists.

He has been capped by England at U19 and U20 level and featured 51 times for Blackburn in the senior side, making his first-team debut as a 17-year-old.

The Eagles chased a loan deal for Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, but the 28-year-old looks set to join Premier League rivals West Ham.

Palace are in the market for a midfielder after Cheick Doucoure ruptured his Achilles tendon in the 2-1 defeat at Luton in November.

Chris Richards – a centre-back by trade – has been playing in midfield for Roy Hodgson’s side.
