Plumstead Maxey Road crash: Woman fighting for life

Police and ambulance crews were called just after 10pm last night (Wednesday) to the crash between a pedestrian and motorbike at Maxey Road.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to hospital where she remains in a life-threatening condition.

Her next of kin are aware.

The rider of the motorbike left the scene on foot before police got to the scene.

There has been no arrests.

Road closures and diversions remain in place while enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 22:00hrs on Wednesday, 18 October to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a pedestrian at Maxey Road, SE18.

“Emergency services attended.

“The pedestrian, a 23-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by LAS where she remains in a life threatening condition. Her next of kin are aware.

“The rider of the motorbike left the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

“There were no arrests.

“Road closures and diversions remain in place while enquiries continue.

“Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0208 285 1574 quoting CAD 7607/9NOV.
