Ministry Experience Scheme roles (Pastoral Assistants), FULL TIME PATHWAY – September 2024 start, North London Pastoral Assistant Scheme (NLPA)s (NLPA)

Do you feel God is calling you to offer and develop your skills and abilities to his service? Would you like the opportunity to take time to respond and discern this vocation?

The North London Pastoral Assistant Scheme (NLPA) is a long- and well-established Scheme that offers young people (women and men) the opportunity to work for a year or two in a parish context, alongside priests and people, in our lively, diverse parishes of both traditional and liberal Anglo-Catholic integrities.

The Pastoral Assistants/Ministry Experience scheme members serve in some of London’s most vibrant, challenging and diverse parishes. We seek to appoint Pastoral Assistants to service in Camden Town, Hornsey, Kentish Town, and Tottenham from September 2024.

The roles provide an opportunity to get involved in the full range of the mission and ministry of the parishes including liturgical, pastoral, hospitality, musical, teaching, social outreach, and other mission and evangelism activities.

The placements will be combined with practical and vocational guidance, membership of a praying and worshipping community, formation sessions and support and friendship with others on the Scheme, both full- and part- time (including a trip abroad).

The scheme is free to do, with accommodation, as part of an intentional community, and living expenses provided.

Please visit our website for more information about the NLPA scheme and to complete an application online.

For an informal conversation about the roles and/or to sign up for a Zoom information session please contact Fr James Hill (frjameshill@nullhotmail.co.uk).

There is a requirement to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to appointment to these roles.

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
