Bury Town turn North London Blue

Bury Town travelled to New Salamis, basking in congratulations after winning our Performance of the Month Award for their victory over Lowestoft last month and our Vita Risk Solutions Manager of the Month Award for boss Cole Skuse. But would there be a curse?

Town were in fine form, six unbeaten, a run that included five wins, whilst their Coles Park hosts were also on the up, with only one defeat from their previous four. Both matches between the sides last season had ended level, and we thought this one might be close too, but it was anything but, the visitors trouncing their hosts by five goals to nil in North London.

The opener took ten minutes to arrive, Ollie Canfer scoring his second goal for the club in his fifth appearance, and on twenty seven minutes Lewis O’Malley made it two. The visitors were out of sight before the break, Cemal Ramadan scoring his customary goal- his fifteenth of the season- and after the break Luke Brown took his tally to fourteen with the fourth of the match on sixty six minutes.

Right at the end Tom Thulborn made it five, and the Blues closed to within two points of the top five.

New Salamis co-boss Finlay Johnson took to social media after the match to heap praise on the visitors:

‘Best team we’ve hosted so far in my humble opinion. Better in both boxes particularly but overall our young lads were taught a few lessons today. Congratulations to Bury Town- my tip to go up in the playoffs if they carry on like that.’

Note to all clubs- please upload any goal of the month contenders as soon as you can, to the address we sent you!
