Harry Pitman named as Primrose Hill NYE teen stabbing victim

Harry Pitman has been identified as the teenage boy, 16, who was killed on New Year’s Eve (December 31) at 11.40pm.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.

In a Metropolitan Police portal appealing for information, police wrote: “Homicide Detectives are investigating a murder of Harry Pitman at the summit of Primrose Hill, London NW3.”

According to the information shared, Harry was attacked at about 11.30pm.

A male, 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into police custody.

Neighbourhood group Primrose Hill Watch has estimated that 20,000 to 50,000 people were in attendance to watch the fireworks from the park.

This morning (January 1) forensic investigators and officers were seen at the park as it remains closed off.

Litter was seen scattered across the area as it remains within the crime scene. All entrances to the park have been blocked off by officers.

A single white forensic tent could be seen near the top of the hill by the viewpoint.

Councillor Pat Callaghan, acting leader of Camden Council and cabinet member for safer communities, said: “We are working closely with the police to support them with this investigation.

“We are also stepping up visible patrols with the police in the Primrose Hill area to provide reassurance to residents over the next few days.

“We will continue to work with our partners to do all we can to keep young people safe in Camden.”
