Pie and smash! Moment car repeatedly rams into front of east London pie shop before ‘hitting parked car as it flees’

This is the moment a car repeatedly rams into an east London pie shop in front of horrified onlookers.

The black Mercedes was caught on camera ploughing into Brook Pie & Mash in Dagenham on New Year’s Day in a shocking act of vehicular violence.

Footage taken by passers-by showed the car repeatedly reversing into the shop through the front of the building in a bid to damage the inside of the store.

The car then fled the scene, with witnesses reporting it crashed into a parked car as it tried to get away.

In video of the incident posted on social media the tyres of the Mercedes, which appears to have no number plate, can be heard screeching and bangs erupting as it is rammed into the shop.

A shocked onlooker can be heard asking ‘why?’, while a woman says ‘oh my God’ upon seeing the ram raid in Dagenham Road.

Photos shared on social media after the incident show the green corrugated steel shutters which normally protect the entrance had been smashed open.

Debris from the incident could be seen inside and outside the building, which is thought to have been empty at the time.

Images also show tables and chairs inside the shop strewn all over the ground, while the counter also appears to be damaged.

MailOnline has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
