Four arrested after man fatally stabbed in east London

Two men and two women have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 49-year-old man was stabbed in east London in the early hours of Boxing Day.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to reports of a stabbing in Cranwood Street, Hackney, at around 3.10am. The victim was found with stab wounds and died from his injuries.

Two men, aged 49 and 42, and two women, aged 35 and 44, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, a police spokesman said. They remain in police custody.

A police cordon had been set up at the scene on Tuesday afternoon, with several forensic vans parked nearby.

Three bikes could be seen beyond the cordon, with two lying in the road. Another bike had been cordoned off by police against the gates of the nearby Moorfields eye clinic.
