It happened in Blackfen Road just before 8.50pm today (July 1).
Officers, London Ambulance Service crews, and an air ambulance attended and found a man injured.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The nature of the incident is currently unknown.
Police enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 8.49pm on Saturday, 1 July to reports of an injured man on Blackfen Road in Sidcup.
“Officers and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
“Despite their efforts, the man, who is believed to be aged in his early 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
