Everybody loves an early Christmas present, and we lucky Londoners received ours earlier this week, in the form of a shiny new neighbourhood cocktail bar. Twice Shy has set up shop just around the corner from Earl’s Court station and has already begun quenching thirst and satisfying appetites with a carefully curated menu of cocktails and stuffed focaccia.
Following the success of sibling venue, Amaro, which opened up on Kensington High Street two years ago; the same team are back, and they’re ready to put Twice Shy firmly on London’s cocktail map.

The space
This new cocktail hotspot has gone for a contemporary vibe – but with a hint of luxury, obviously (we are in west London, after all). We’re talking dim lights, a lot of brushed brass and dark wood, and a big old granite bar counter. Ever so inviting sofas line the edge of the entire seating room but of course you also have the option of taking a seat at the bar to get up-close-and-personal view of the mixology magicians at work. With just a thirty guest capacity, it’s a gorgeously intimate space, and an additional basement room is also available for private hire, hosting up to fifteen people.
The menu
Okay, now let’s get on to the most important thing: the booze. The expertly created cocktail menu will perfectly align with the overall vision of the team: quite simply serving up great cocktails on a rotating seasonal basis. The drinks at Twice Shy will be a tad more experimental than the quintessential classics at Amaro, championing flavours such as nougat, beetroot, and lemon grass. The menu will also feature an array of stuffed focaccias and light bites – to make sure all of those tempting cocktails don’t go straight to your head.
The bar will be open on a walk-in basis only, the perfect pitstop after a long day of last minute Christmas shopping. Not that any of us would ever be that underprepared…
Twice Shy will be kicking off with a soft launch menu, offering a 25% discount on the total bill until January 14. Now, that’s what I call Christmas spirit.
