Thameslink changes affecting south London the week before Christmas

Between Monday and Thursday this week, no late night Thameslink services will be running between Sutton and Herne Hill as a result of engineering works.

Additionally this week, planned works near London Blackfriars will alter some services travelling through Elephant and Castle in the evenings.

On Christmas Eve, all Thameslink services are planned to finish earlier, at around 9pm that evening.

Monday, December 18 to Thursday, December 21 – No late night Thameslink trains to and from Sutton

What’s happening?

This week, engineering work taking place between Herne Hill and Sutton will close some lines on evenings between Monday and Thursday.

After 10pm on these days, trains will not run between Herne Hill and Sutton.

Instead Thameslink customers are being advised to use London Buses, London Underground services or Southern services to complete there journeys.

Monday, December 18 to Thursday, December 21 – Amended late night Thameslink services between Sevenoaks and London Blackfriars

What’s happening?

Engineering work taking place around London Blackfriars will close some lines on evenings between Monday and Thursday.

On these days, the 11:22pm Sevenoaks to London Blackfriars train will be diverted to terminate at London Victoria and will not be able to call at Elephant & Castle or London Blackfriars.

Instead customers are advised to use the London Underground to complete their journeys.

The 11:46pm train from London Blackfriars to Sevenoaks train will instead be diverted after Bickley.

For customers travelling between Bromley South and Sevenoaks, a replacement bus will run between Bromley South and Sevenoaks via Swanley.

What’s happening?

On Christmas Eve, all Thameslink trains will finish earlier, ending by 9pm.

Through south London, the last departures from London Blackfriars will be:

• 7:43pm to Sevenoaks
• 7:43pm to Brighton
• 8:02pm to Gatwick Airport and Three Bridges
• 8:05pm to Sutton via Mitcham
• 8:20pm to Wimbledon
