Man found dead at Shrewsbury Park Plumstead

Emergency services were called to reports of an unresponsive man at Shrewsbury Park at 8.10am today (December 15).

The man was found with facial injuries and he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police enquiries are now underway to identify and notify his next of kin.

A crime remains in place as the incident is being investigated.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police: “Police were called at 08:10hrs on Friday, 15 December to reports of an unresponsive man at Shrewsbury Park, Greenwich.

“Police and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. At the scene a man, no further details, was found with facial injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are underway to identify the man and notify next of kin.

“A crime remains in place at the location.

“There have been no arrests.

“The Met’s Specialist Crime Command has been notified.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC quoting reference CAD 1394/15DEC.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.02am today (15 December) to reports of an incident at the junction between Hatton and Garland Road, SE18.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.

“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
