Earl’s Court Underground station incident: Person dies

A casualty on the tracks was reported to police just after 8.20am today (September 22).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.

The person was pronounced dead shortly after.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Severe delays remain on the Circle, District, and the Hammersmith and City line following the incident.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Earl’s Court Underground Station at 8.23am today (22 September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
