However, you may not have known that Jude Law was born and grew up in Lewisham.
The Hollywood star grew up in Blackheath and attended John Ball Primary School.
Both of his parents were teachers, and Jude has said that his dad was “the youngest headmaster in London” at the time.
John Ball Primary school is a mixed school for children aged between three and eleven based on Southvale Road.
For a short time afterwards, he also went to Kidbrooke School as well, before finishing school at Alleyn’s School in Dulwich.
Alleyn’s School is for children aged between four and 18 based on Townley Road.
It is an independent school and a registered charity and was originally part of Edward Alleyn’s College of God’s Gift charitable foundation, which also included James Allen’s Girls’ School, which recently won an award in the Sunday Times Parent Power edition, and Dulwich College.
Jude started acting in the National Youth Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
He went on to perform in the West End and won an Olivier award for outstanding newcomer.
The play he performed in was then transferred to Broadway and earned Jude Law a Tony nomination.
After this success, Jude started landing roles in television shows such as Sherlock Holmes, Families and The Tailor of Gloucester.
As he became more and more well known, Jude started to find himself taking on roles in films such as Wilde, Gattaca and The Talented Mr Ripley.
He then went on to play roles in even bigger blockbusters such as Cold Mountain, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe, Alfie, and of course, The Holiday.
Since then, he has returned to the theatre to play the title role in Shakespeare’s Hamlet at Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End.
He has also portrayed the iconic role of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter Spinoff of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as well as playing Yon-Rogg in the superhero film Captain Marvel.
Jude has also actively campaigned against the use of fur in clothing, representing PETA and directing anti-fur adverts.
