The bus driver, who posts as ediz1975 on social media site X, tweeted on December 4 saying it was “one of the scariest moments” of his life.
His bus had stopped at Wood Green in Haringey shortly before 5pm when the attack took place.
He wrote: “Passenger pulled a gun on me for Fu@@ sake while at the bus stop.. pointed it straight at my head.”

Later the same day he added: “Thanks for the messages… been a tough week. Robbed last week on my lunch break and now this. This was one of the most scariest moments of my life – (I am) still shaking. Seeing the gun pointing to my head and looking actually into the barrel of the gun will stay with me forever. At home now with my family.”
The bus driver, who is also a cycling activist, received a swell of support from others on the site.

“Transport police need to patrol bus routes more and night buses, not just the fare evasion staff who again are abused.”
Police said they were called just before 5pm to reports of a group of men seen with a gun at the junction of High Road and Watsons Road.
A spokesperson said officers attended and carried out a search of the area but there were no reports of any injuries and no evidence of shots being fired.
“An investigation is under way and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances,” they added.
A TfL spokesperson said: “This must have been a shocking incident and the driver is being supported by the operating company.
“Safety is our top priority and we are urgently looking into these reports and continue to support the police with their investigations into any incidents involving our services.
“We have more than 2,500 police and police community support officers and 500 TfL enforcement staff patrolling the network at all times of the day to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour, alongside operations to target offenders and hotspot locations.”
