Cyclist killed in Old Kent Road lorry collision – South London News

A cyclist has been killed in a collision with a lorry in Old Kent Road.

The Met and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene at around 6.30pm on Tuesday to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a lorry in Old Kent Road, at the junction with St James Road, in Southwark.

Emergency services found a 53-year-old male cyclist who had been in collision with a lorry.

Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics the man sadly died at the scene.

Detectives investigating the fatal collision are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.

A spokesman for the Met said: “His next of kin have been notified. The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene.

“There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone who witnessed this collision or has dash-cam footage should call the witness line on 020 8285 1574; call 101; or ‘X’ @MetCC quoting 5873/05DEC23.”
