Drivers and pedestrians navigating a major north London intersection will be relieved to learn construction has ended after months of reduced lanes and traffic congestion.
The City of London said Wednesday that crews have completed the installation of watermains and other improvements at Richmond Street and Fanshawe Park Road.
The work was one of several major construction projects undertaken by the city this season.
The new road design at the north London intersection includes a new centre-median meant to improve safety and to accommodate future travel demands.
Sidewalks and in-boulevard asphalt bike paths were also added, as well as street lighting and new traffic signals.

The city warns that construction at the intersection is not done with more underground infrastructure work planned for 2024 on Fanshawe Park Road, between the east and west sections of north Centre Road.
