With its classic British ambiance, extensive drink selection, and welcoming staff, The Mitre is a true gem in West London.
My cousin and I headed to the cozy, traditional pub on Tuesday evening (November 7), to taste their brand-new menu.
The Metre has recently had a £750,000 refurbishment, which included enhancements such as a new signage, fresh timber, and stylish new furniture – which all pay homage to the site’s historical roots.
The interior of The Mitre features dark wood, low-beamed ceilings, and a roaring fireplace that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking for a quiet corner to enjoy a pint or a lively space to socialize with friends, this pub caters to both.
The Mitre offers a well-rounded menu of traditional pub fare, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
For starters, I chose the vegan mozzarella, grilled artichokes, smoked tomatoes and almond pistou, and my cousin opted for the grilled Tenderstem broccoli, chickpea n’duja, coconut yoghurt, dukka and date molasses – both were priced between £8-£10.
For mains, I had the Delicia pumpkin and sage tortelloni, which came with spinach, and pumpkin seed pesto – this was priced at £16.
The pumpkin filling was rich, with a subtly sweet and nutty profile, while the sage had an earthy, herbaceous note.
From hearty pies and classic fish and chips to lighter salads and vegetarian options, the food is both tasty and satisfying.
As for the drinks, The Mitre has a diverse selection of beers, ales, and ciders on tap, as well as an extensive range of spirits and wines.
The staff at The Mitre were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu – they created a welcoming atmosphere and were ready to assist with recommendations.
In addition to its indoor charm, The Mitre boasts a lovely outdoor seating area that’s perfect for enjoying a sunny day or a warm summer evening.
It’s a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, offering a relaxing and comfortable environment to enjoy a drink or a meal.
In conclusion, The Mitre Pub in Holland Park is a quintessential British pub experience that beautifully marries tradition with modern amenities.
Whether you’re seeking a classic Sunday roast, a well-poured pint, or a cozy corner to relax with friends, The Mitre delivers on all fronts.
