Rain warnings issued for South London: Full Met Office forecast

This weekend marks the annual celebrations to mark November 5 (Bonfire Night), which will see many attending firework and bonfire displays across London.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain across parts of south London and Kent, which is in place today from 5am until 11:59pm.

The warning is in place for Bromley and Bexley as well as Croydon, Merton and Sutton.

Richmond and Kingston are also covered under the yellow weather warning.

The Met Office has predicted a wet start for London, as the capital is forecast to be hit with rainfall and potential wind this morning.

Throughout the course of Saturday morning London is forecast for heavy rain showers, spreading south and south east during the morning and lasting until the early afternoon.

These rain showers are predicted to be more focused towards southern and south eastern areas, with the possibility of thunderstorms in some areas.

It is predicted that some areas could see anywhere between 15-25 mm of rain, with the potential of 30-40 mm by the end of the day in coastal southeast England.

From 3pm onwards the weather is predicted to have sunny spells, but will become more overcast towards the evening.
