Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly house hunting in UK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could soon be spending a lot more time with their royal relatives as the couple are house hunting in the UK, according to reports.

The pair moved to California back in 2020 after stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family.

According to the Prince, he felt the move was necessary to safeguard his own mental health and to protect his family.

But now they could be returning to the UK – at least part-time – as Harry is said to be looking for a second home for his family, and it’s rumoured he’s set his heart on London.

Of course, it makes sense for Harry and Meghan to choose a base near Buckingham Palace if they’re keen to spend more time with the royal family.

Prince William and Princess Kate recently relocated from Kensington Palace, London, to Adelaide Cottage, Windsor, but whichever UK location the Sussexes choose, their young family will have more opportunities to spend time with the royals.

We’d love to think this is the reason the Duke and Duchess are making the move, even if they’ve not decided all of the details just yet.

As per OK!, a source claims: There is a divide between the couple on this issue but they will soon start looking for a property of their own near London and Harry is very much leading this.

“They won’t be asking the King for a property on the royal estate due to the issue that arose with Frogmore Cottage. Making use of a small apartment in Kensington Palace from time to time isn’t out of the question, but when it comes to a home in the UK, they will purchase that themselves.”

The latest news may come as a surprise to some, given Harry and William’s recent “royal rift”, as it has been dubbed.

Several accusations have been made, including Harry’s claims in Spare, in which he alleges William once physically attacked him during a fight about Meghan’s treatment.

However, there is hope a reconciliation could be on the cards, and one royal expert thinks proximity to Harry’s family could be one of the driving forces behind the decision.

Duncan Larcombe, a former Royal Editor who previously wrote a biography of Prince Harry, claims, “If they don’t have a base here, Harry’s children are going to grow up not knowing their cousins, uncles or aunts, or any of their family. They’re growing up fast and his father isn’t getting any younger. I think he would want to do this before it’s too late.”

As to where Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, will go to school OK!’s source suggests the jury is still out on that one.

Ultimately, Meghan and Harry must decide what is best for their children, but we’d love to see the family set up a base in the UK.

When Cosmopolitan approached Buckingham Palace about this story, a spokesperson declined to comment, directing us to contact the Sussexes’ team. Cosmopolitan has also reached out to Archewell for comment.
