Restaurant La Bibliothèque will open in Haggerston this week serving a Mediterranean and Japanese inspired menu in a polished, up market dining room.
Created by the team behind chic east London cocktail bar MAP Maison and Map Petite Maison in Stockholm the Kingsland Road restaurant will welcome diners in from Thursday, October 26. And when it does, it will offer a soft launch deal.
Running from opening to November 2, La Bibliothèque will take 50 per cent off the entire bill.
Open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, James Mayle (ex-Simon Rogan’s Fera at Claridge’s, The Dairy) heads up the open kitchen that will plate up the likes of venison tartare, turbot bouillabaisse, and baked potato ravioli with leek, black truffle and egg yolk, which come paired with sake and wines.
For dessert, guests can try the Tunworth cheese ice cream that comes with a balsamic and autumn truffle.
Located near to Map Maison, the restaurant is part of a boutique hotel that has three bedrooms, a first-floor terrace and a bar.
The bar, which comes with more than 80 gins, a whiskey library will and more than 150 wines by the bottle. Look out for events like whisky masterclasses and sake tasting in the coming months.

The news follows the opening of another Hackney restaurant, this one by the team behind “Europe’s best rooftop bar’, Frank’s in Peckham.
Freshly opened in London Fields, just of Broadway Market, Bambi is a wine bar and small plates restaurant.
It takes over the former Bright site in Netil House on Westgate Street, which has undergone a full refurbishment. The bright space with high ceilings boasts casually stylish vibes, with wooden wall panels, high-top tables, a bar and a DJ booth.
With Bib Gourmand chef Henry Freestone (ex-Peckham Cellars) in the kitchen and Run Dem Crew founder Charlie Dark MBE curating the DJ line up, Bambi, named after James’ great-grandmother, it looks set to become a destination for good wine, music and food in equal measure.
