Israel-Hamas war: Police seek two women who wore images of paragliders at London protest | UK News

Two women who wore images of paragliders on their backs during yesterday’s protest for Palestinians are now being sought by London police.

The women, who wore red and black jackets, are being asked to come forward as part of an investigation into a potential public order offence.

The images may be a reference to Hamas storming into Israel on motorised paragliders during a surprise attack last weekend.

Hundreds of Israelis were killed, including 260 people at a music festival.

Anyone who recognises the pair is being asked to contact officers on 101.

It comes as a woman has been arrested in Brighton on suspicion of supporting Hamas, which is a designated terror organisation in the UK.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s protests, the Met Police’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said: “People do not have the right to incite violence or hatred. The law is clear that support for proscribed organisations is illegal.

“Anyone with a flag in support of Hamas or any other proscribed terrorist organisation will be arrested. We will not tolerate the celebration of terrorism or death, or tolerate anyone inciting violence.

“We have seen behaviours this week that are unacceptable. They are hateful and there is no place for that in London.”

Police arrest man over racial abuse

Also in London, a 67-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly shouted racist abuse at those gathered in Whitehall yesterday, and made racist comments towards a police officer.

Footage circulated online showed the man being walked away, carrying a Union Jack.

But the Met Police said this morning: “This was in no way the reason for his arrest and forms no part of the charges against him.”
