Wimbledon care home receives ‘Outstanding’ rating – South London News

Team members and residents at a care home are celebrating after receiving an “Outstanding” rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Kew House Care Home in Spencer Hill Road, Wimbledon, said the rating put the home in the top 3.5 per cent of England care homes to achieve this high standard.

The report praised the residential, nursing and dementia home in Spencer Hill Road for its “open and inclusive culture” and recognised it as “Good”  for safety and being well led.

The report said: “People told us they felt safe and well cared for at the service. Staff were visibly present, providing people with the appropriate care and support they needed.

“Staff demonstrated good person-centred awareness of people’s individual care needs and interacted with them both in a respectful and considerate way.”

General manager at Kew House, Natasha Shillingford, said: “I am incredibly proud that the home has received this Outstanding rating.

“Behind every success is hard work and passion, and my team are so dedicated, enthusiastic and courageous to try new things in order to enable the residents to live active and fulfilled lives.

“I would like to thank the residents, relatives and team members for supporting Kew House and making every day a true pleasure. I look forward to the next stages of our journey together.”

Aneurin Brown, the managing director of the care home, said: “I am absolutely delighted. To have the team at Kew House recognised for their amazing work by our regulator is a wonderful affirmation of what Hallmark is all about.

“Every resident is treated as an individual and the teams show professionalism, enthusiasm and compassion towards everyone.

“This is a true testament to the care and dedication given by the teams and how the wellbeing of our residents is always at the forefront of their mind.

“I could not be prouder of the whole team and how they continue to provide the very best relationship-centred care.”
