Hugh Laurie’s quiet life in North London where average home fetches £1.2million | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Hugh Laurie is an actor known for his role in the BBC sketch comedy shows, A Bit of Fry & Laurie and the P. G. Wodehouse adaptation Jeeves and Wooster. He also appeared in Blackadder from 1987 to 1989 alongside fellow English actor Rowan Atkinson.

The 64-year-old is also famous for his role as Dr. Gregory House in the US medical drama series House. The role saw him garner two Golden Globes and many other accolades.

In 2011, Hugh was listed in the Guinness World Records as the most-watched leading man on TV and was one of the highest-paid actors in a television drama at the time.

For House, it’s thought he earned $409,000 (£335,488) per episode and $700,000 (£574,185) per episode by the end of the series.

Over the years, the actor has also appeared in several well-known films including The Man in the Iron Mask, 101 Dalmatians and Stuart Little.

Hugh was born in Oxford and is the youngest of four children. He studied at Eton College and later Selwyn College, Cambridge.

The actor hasn’t strayed too far from his roots, reportedly owning a property in North London in Belsize Park.

The property is reportedly a four-storey Victorian house that’s worth around £5million.

Hugh married theatre administrator Jo Green in 1989 in Camden. The couple have three children together, Charlie, Bill and Rebecca.

Hugh also reportedly has a home in Los Angeles which he purchased in 2008 for £2million.

Both Belsize Park and Los Angeles are known for being home to various celebrities and film stars. Belsize Park is an affluent area of London known for its independent boutique shops, delis, cafes and bistros.

Unlike other parts of London, Belsize Park is leafy and quiet with lots of residential streets lined with mews houses and Georgian and Victorian apartments.

Unsurprisingly, properties in Belsize Park don’t come cheap and have an average house price of £1,240,774 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Belsize Park during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £852,634. Terraced properties sold for an average of £1,984,297, with semi-detached properties fetching £3,773,417.

Overall, sold prices in Belsize Park over the last year were 16 percent up on the previous year and seven percent up on the 2017 peak of £1,164,411.
