Church Planter vacancy in London and Home Counties

Transforming Southall and Hounslow Bishop’s Mission Order
Church Planter
Holy Trinity Southall
Patron: CPAS

Transforming Southall and Hounslow is an exciting mission initiative seeking to catalyse church growth across thirteen parishes within a multi-ethnic, multi-religious area of West London. We aim to equip and nurture new disciples and lay leaders in fifteen emerging new congregations, overseen within our parishes; to see the deepening of Christian discipleship and participation within the Church and within our communities; and to stimulate an environment for tangible change through ambitious youth and young adult engagement, social enterprise and Creation Care.

We are looking for an ordained priest in the Church of England who will:

  • Develop and communicate a kingdom vision to plant a new congregation within the parish of Holy Trinity Southall, where there are currently no services or congregation, but there remains a core of previous members committed to praying the future of the parish into being.

  • Identify, gather and equip a planting team from the Resource Church, St John Southall Green, and the wider Southall Group of Anglican Churches.

  • Be both a self-starting pioneer and a supportive colleague in the leadership team at St John Southall Green.

  • Be committed to racial justice and the development and growth of intercultural churches.

  • Lead a new intercultural congregation.

  • Inspire a culture of Christ-centred prayer, discipleship and community ministry.

  • Engender an expectation of further planting within three years.

We offer:

  • A modern four-bedroomed Vicarage opposite Southall Park and close to excellent transport links of both bus and train and a full time clergy stipend.

  • Groundbreaking ministry and mission within a dynamic urban context.

  • Experienced and supportive colleagues and a vibrant and diverse church community at St John Southall Green, the planting Intercultural Resource Church.

Please contact the Bishop of Willesden’s PA, Mary Mesmain, to receive the Parish profile and application form: [email protected]

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.

Closing date: 20 October 2023
