Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death in north London.
The teenager was found in Kendal Gardens, Edmonton, after police were called at 11.27pm last night (October 1) to reports of a stabbing.
He sadly died at the scene, despite the best efforts of police and the London Ambulance Service. His parents have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.
No arrests have been made at this stage, and a post-mortem is yet to take place. A crime scene remains in-place at Kendal Gardens.
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines said: “I thank local people for their patience as police have worked through the night.
“They will continue to see a police presence and ongoing activity in their neighbourhood in the coming days, and I encourage people in the community to speak with those officers if they have any information or concerns that they wish to share.
“My thoughts and most sincere sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim. The family will be supported by dedicated police officers throughout the unimaginably difficult days and months ahead.
“We will be there for them, and I can assure them that skilled and tenacious detectives will be working to bring to justice whoever was responsible for this terrible crime.”

The incident comes under a week since 15-year-old Elianne Andam was stabbed to death in Croydon, while on her way to school.
London mayor Sadiq Khan said following the incident: “I’m committed to driving down violence by being tough on violent crime and tough on its complex causes, and will continue working day and night to do everything in my power to end the scourge of knife crime in our city.
“This means supporting the police in tackling violence and providing record funding to young Londoners for prevention and early intervention, through my Violence Reduction Unit, as part of an approach to build a safer city for all Londoners.”
