Athletic Newham and Sporting Bengal were also celebrating home wins, but Romford were denied victory by a late Halstead Town goal and Barking and Frenford fell to home defeats.
Luke Parrott struck twice for Woods, with Sam Sollosi and David Gokou also on target in a 4-0 win over the Foxes at Ashtons.
And boss Shane Baptiste posted: “Good result, wasn’t at our best & credit to Ilford who played well but most important thing is getting positive results no matter how it’s done. Massive thanks to our fans.”
Athletic Newham ran out 3-0 winners over Stanway Rovers at the Terence McMillan Stadium, while Sporting Bengal came from 2-0 down at the break to beat White Ensign by the odd goal in five at Mile End thanks to a hat-trick from Sheri Artmeladze.
Hassan Nalbant’s ninth goal of the season put Romford into an early lead at Halstead, but Jack Dixson had to make several saves before the hosts had an effort ruled out for a foul on the Boro keeper.
The visitors could not hold onto their lead, though, and saw Joel Older level two minutes from time as it ended all square.
Frenford lost 3-0 to Tilbury, as Roman Campbell struck twice and substitute Dan Trendall also netted.
And Barking were put to the sword by FC Clacton at the Lawtech Stadium, slumping to a 5-0 reverse.
Charlie Collis, Mekhi McKenzie and Teddy Collis put the Seasiders three goals up at the break.
And McKenzie and Teddy Collis struck again in the final quarter of an hour to complete Clacton’s nap hand.
Frenford are due to host Ilford in a league derby on Tuesday, while Woodford visit Met Police for a London Senior Cup tie.
