A man has died in a motorcycle crash after being pursued by police in London.
The Metropolitan Police said the motorbike was involved in a collision with a taxi and “street furniture” on Tottenham Court Road, close to Warren Street Tube station.
A pillion passenger on the motorbike suffered injuries described as “non life-threatening”. He was arrested after being found with a machete, the force added.
The fatal incident happened after two officers on marked police motorcycles “became aware of a motorcycle travelling through a red light on Oxford Street” at about 6.45am on Monday.
